To celebrate the anniversary of the most emblematic work in his discography, Matt Elliott offers us ‘Drinking Songs Live 20 Years On’, a collection of alternative versions recorded live with the musicians who accompany him on stage: Anne-Elisabeth de Cologne (double bass) as a duo, and Barbara Dang (piano) as a trio.
‘Drinking Songs Live 20 Years On‘ is not just a celebration of two decades of internationally acclaimed work, it is above all an edifying work of exploration and reinterpretation. In reviving his ‘drinking songs’ twenty years on, Matt Elliott gives us a precious gift: the chance to hear ‘Drinking Songs’ again for the first time.
